Ten years of doing right by Richmond yards. One crew, one standard.
Ironwood Grounds started back in 2014 with one mower, a secondhand truck, and a pretty simple promise: leave every yard better than we found it.
Our founder, Marcus Ellery, spent about a decade on big commercial crews watching corners get cut. Rushed mows, dead plantings, callbacks nobody ever returned. He started Ironwood to do the opposite, small enough to actually care and accountable enough to trust.
Ten years later, the same crew still shows up at your door. We’ve grown from one truck to a full team across Greater Richmond, but the standard hasn’t moved. No rushing, no shortcuts, and no disappearing once the invoice clears.
These days we design, install, and maintain landscapes for hundreds of homes from Church Hill to Short Pump, and every single one of them gets the same crew, the same care, and the same promise we started with.
